Beatson Institute

The Beatson Institute is one of Cancer Research UK's core-funded institutes. It is engaged in a programme of world-class science directed at understanding key aspects of cancer cell behaviour. The CTU maintains strong productive links with the Institute. These links are aimed at two main areas of research:

  1. The identification and assessment of molecular markers in the context of clinical trials aimed at a more rationally directed drug development and tailored treatment based on molecular pathology.
  2. The rapid advancement of novel anti-cancer therapeutics from the laboratory into the clinic to test their promise in early clinical trials.
